Financial institutions rely on information provided in consumer reports to make fair and prudent credit decisions. Inaccuracies in consumer reports can be damaging both to the consumer and to your financial institution. This course will teach you about compliance requirements under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It will cover key terms relating to FCRA; obtaining consumer reports; transaction types covered by FCRA; the requirements, responsibilities and rights outlined under the Act; effective ways to speak with consumers about their rights under the Act; and the consequences of noncompliance."
