This course is primarily for people who want to extend their creative horizons. Even those who have no painting skills and have little knowledge of photography can learn this craft. It does not, however, preclude those who already possess photography or painting skills. Imagination and ingenuity are the chief requisites for creating beautiful images - images that use techniques described in unpretentious prose along with easy to follow diagrams and instructions.
Throughout, no sophisticated photographic equipment is required. Like any craft, whether a person can use these skills professionally is dependent upon the prowess of the artist. The course describes how to create beautiful miniatures and portraits as well images both surreal and abstract.

There's no easy way to create art. This is not a paint-by-numbers kind of style. It's challenging. And it's extremely rewarding.
Before you begin combining photography and painting, you must first look at what materials are required, how the style evolved and the philosophy of it.
How can it be that a person who previously has done little or no painting, uses a compact camera, possesses a slide projector (or can borrow one), can create such beautiful and imaginative images?
The answer is that during this course, you will be taught how.
Many artists use expensive cameras, studio lighting and sophisticated equipment. The Art of Combining Photography and Painting shows how to use ordinary mundane objects to achieve some amazing effects.
You don't need an expensive camera. A photograph taken with a Compact camera won't have the detail and clarification as one taken with an expensive camera. But when a print, say16x20 inches, is painted it is of no consequence whether the photograph was taken with a compact camera or the latest, most sophisticated camera on the market! The painted print might be for exhibition. Then again, it might need to be copied, reproduced. In which case, a professional photographer with all the expensive equipment at his/her disposal, is called to do the job. The professional supplies you with the transparency - and/or a print - for the client to see. Moreover, a work that combines photography and painting is ideal for publication on the Internet.
And how is it a person doesn't need to be a good painter to start with? At the beginning of this course you will learn the techniques of painting photographic prints. After your first lesson, you will produce an image that is eye-catching, one that you will be proud of. But you will soon create more complex images.
This course begins with the very basics of combining photography and painting. Don't be too ambitious to begin with. Once you've done it, images will leap into your mind and you'll work out your own ways of manifesting them.
